GF Giveaway

Giveaway time again. Betty Crocker sent me another box of Gluten-free goodies through MyBlogSpark to try, and they'll send the same box to one of you. The prize pack includes full size Betty Crocker boxes (all Gluten-free) of Bisquick and mixes for yellow cake, devil's food cake, brownie mix, and chocolate chip cookies.

The Betty Crocker cake, brownie and cookie mixes are great. These are what we buy regularly when we want to make brownies or cake that won't aggravate E's allergies. They taste pretty good. The brownies are our favorite. If I'm being honest about all the products, I have to say that the GF Bisquick is just okay. It's a little different in consistency from regular Bisquick but it gives you some easy GF options.

Betty Crocker is having a recipe contest at GlutenFreely.com. Check that out, too. They're giving away $5000 for the best Holiday-themed recipe using one of these mixes. They're also offering these mixes in their online store for 20% off right now.

I'm pretty sure I won't win any contests for originality, but I'm going to use the brownie and cookie mixes later today to make another batch of brookies. What are brookies, you ask?

Easy Brookies
  1. In separate bowls, follow instructions to prepare brownie mix and cookie dough.
  2. Pour brownie mix into greased pan.
  3. Crumble cookie dough over the top.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done.
  5. Cut into squares like brownies.
So what do you have to do to win? Just leave me a comment below. Tell me what your favorite holiday-themed dessert is. It doesn't have to be a GF dessert, either. Mine aren't. I have many faves:

Chocolate cake with white buttercream icing for birthdays
Strawberry cream cheese pie for Mothers' Day
Ribs for Fathers' Day (oh, that isn't a dessert?)
Homemade ice cream for just about anything in the summer
Punkin' pie for Thanksgiving
Chocolate eclairs for whenever Mom is making them
Frosted sugar cookies for Christmas

I'll pick a winner from the comments using Random.org. Make sure your comment includes a way to contact you. Either use your Google profile to comment or leave me your name and email. I know not everyone is eating Gluten-free, but maybe you know somebody who is. And it's free stuff! Who doesn't like that? I'll close comments on Friday at 8:00 PM Pacific time.

That's right. Nobody.

Thanks for playing. Good luck.

  4. My favorite holiday dessert is chocolate crinkle cookies. My mom makes them every year only at Christmas and I eat WAY more than I should.
I could probably make them myself, but that would not make them as special, ya know? :-)
