It’s here. My blog is officially one year old this Saturday. When I sat down at my computer one year ago, life was very different. I sent my thoughts out like paper airplanes into the abyss. Nobody was reading. I couldn’t have imagined that this many of you would have found me in just one year. It makes me so happy to connect with you all the time.
To celebrate, I’m giving away this hand crocheted afghan. I’ve decided to open an Etsy store to sell my goods, so this is a little jump start. I’ll be posting details about that as soon as I get it going.
This winter throw is made out of Red Heart 100% Acrylic yarn in “Aruba Sea” and “Coffee” colors; it's embellished with a variety of flowers in the lower right corner and a picot edge. It is approximately 52 by 82 inches and weighs 4.5 lbs. I crocheted this blanket with double strands of yarn, so it’s extra cozy. It is pictured below on a Queen sized bed, but it would cover a twin nicely.
Since each blanket I make is acrylic, it’s kid-friendly, pet-friendly, and klutz-friendly. Just throw it in the washer and dryer. I will arrange shipment (or delivery, if nearby) to the winner.
This would make a loving gift for someone you know… or perhaps you need it folded neatly over the back of your couch for those chilly January movie nights? Approximate value is $125. I am giving it away, people!
FOUR WAYS TO ENTER. Do all or just one. Depends how bad you really want to win. (Up to 4 entries per person = increased odds at winning.)

Another beautiful blanket. I love the flowers. You'll have to tell me how to get started on Etsy too.
ReplyDeleteHey! Are those the same flowers as the ones in the scarf I made you? I love adding them into the blanket...it really gives it something special. You are very talented and creative!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Lis (and I think I'm sage to assume I'm the only one!)
Boom
ReplyDeleteI love the flower idea! I need to learn how to crochet the blanket you made.....but in the meantime I will hope to win it!
ReplyDeleteThat gorgeous blanket is so much better than a snuggie. Seriously. And here are a few reasons it should become mine:
ReplyDelete1. I live in Washington, DC. It's much colder here than it is in Elk Grove. It recently snowed so much I got snow in my shoe.
2. I recently had an earache. Worse, I erroneously believed ear aches were for babies, so I ignored it. It got worse. The only thing that could have possibly made me feel better would have been a blanket.
3. I'm getting married and last time I checked, I did not have a present from you.
My fingers are crossed,

Hey Coach, congrats on the blog anniversary, you were my inspiration to start blogging during Charlie's deployment! The blanket is awesome, I should get a hobby!
ReplyDeleteThis blanket is beautiful. Followed E's like of your blog from Facebook. Here is my entry.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the colors that you picked...and the flowers!!
ReplyDeleteIt's beautiful! And congratulations for opening a shop on Etsy, yay!
ReplyDeleteHeather you are talented in sooo many ways! I'm very glad you started your blog. I really enjoy reading your work. Your blanket is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI already have a PDawg original crochet blanket, but I just have to brag about how awesome it is! Super thick and snuggly. Last night on NY Eve, took a little nap under it. Also, the highest form of praise came from Lucy, my 10 lb dog. She has taken over control of the blanket as one of her favorite places to curl up for a nap :)
ReplyDeleteMan, isn't it crazy how many people pop up to comment for this blanket? Even if I don't get the blanket, I'm definitely inspired by your crocheting skills. I'm finishing up my first scarf, and it has taken so long for me. I can't imagine doing a blanket! But if you work full time, have a husband and kids and can do it... then I definitely can take it on!
ReplyDeleteReading the word afghan reminded me of Animal Dreams... or maybe that's just because it's you writing the word afghan. Anyway, it's really nice looking and I feel as if it would keep me cozy warm in Michigan. Also, checking the spelling on afghan made me realize how close of a spelling it is to my name... Meghan. I feel like I practically own it already. (Veiga, by the way)
ReplyDeleteHappy 1 year blog anniversary! :)
