Happy Place

Sorry I haven't posted in a while.  Friday was crummy.  I was tired, didn't feel well, and it had been a sad week at work where some friends lost loved ones... Then Ad and I ended up getting stranded in a car with a dead battery.  Just couldn't shake the bad day.  Sometimes it's just too much.  Saturday we day-tripped up to our family cabin on the American River--my favorite place in the entire world, and probably one of the more peaceful.

I have lots to write about, but I thought for today I'd just share some of our pictures from that sunny fall day.  It was peaceful and relaxing and just what I needed.

Check out this pic of Miss Roo, almost 7 years old.  The black and white one below is one of my favorites of the two of us--taken in 2003 (age 8 or 9 months?) on the same rock.

Hope you found some peace this weekend too.  What's your happy place?

  1. Love the pics! Thanks for sharing and I'm glad you weekend perked up!

  2. I'm sorry Friday was such a rough day.
Those pictures are beautiful, I love how you got to take a picture on the same rock as two years ago - I'm sure she will really appreciate.
My parents cottage in the UP of Michigan is definitely one of those happy places for me, it's beautiful and somewhat isolated - perfect for going to find a little solitude and relaxation.
    Have a great Monday!
Oh and if you ever did want to go running, I would be MORE than happy to slow down!

  3. Hey Heather, I had a dead car battery also on Friday. Good thing I was already in the walmart parking lot! They just gave me a jump and I drive over to their service center. Beautiful photos. I wish my family had something like that.
