School Days: Day 7

I'm participating in Travelin' Oma's School Days, a daily online free study course. Join me!

Today's Assignment: ~Where is your ancestral home? Most of us have roots in several places. Pick one city or country you'd like to visit, find it on a map, and explore some travel websites, just for practice. A few of my favorites are: multi-map, Rick Steves, Cheap Flights, Budget Travel.

Hmm... I had writer's block for this one. It's not that I don't want to travel. I crave it. I just know that with things this tight, it's not going to happen for a while. I think the place I'd like to visit is England. Seems like a good place to start. I did a lot of research a few years ago when I was selected to be one of the teachers to represent the UC Davis Mondavi Center at the Globe Theater for a two-week intensive. Unfortunately, that was when things got difficult between me and E, so I had to back out. I'm hoping to reapply so I can go back. I'd love to see London and then maybe some of the English countryside.

We were contacted last year by relatives of my husband who live on the Isle of Man. They came to meet us in California when they were visiting the States. I'd like to visit them too. They're a hoot.

  1. We visited the Isle of Man once and it was wonderful! Dee was working on a history of a family, and one of their distant cousins offered to let us stay (in their little boy's bunk-beds) and then toured us around the island. It was craggy and wild and spectacular. I hope you get there someday soon!
